The Creative Learning Center

Our mission is to Equip Rabun County’s children with a strong, well-rounded education and a firm foundation in Christ, in order to prepare them to face life with an eagerness to learn and the self-assurance that all things, through Christ, are possible.

At the Creative Learning Center, our goal is to educate God’s Kingdom, one child at a time. It is our goal to equip Rabun County’s tiniest citizens with a strong, well-rounded, education and a firm foundation in Christ, in order to prepare them to face life with an eagerness to learn and self-assurance that all things, through Christ, are possible.

The Creative Learning Center was established in 1991 by Clayton First United Methodist Church to provide Rabun County and surrounding areas with a Christian non-denominational school for the pre-school aged child. We are committed to providing a variety of learning experiences which will mature the Spiritual, mental, emotional, physical and social development of each child.

Our goal is to provide a Christian atmosphere in which love, prayer, Bible study, understanding and concern help to meet the needs of each child. We also offer a well-balanced curriculum involving language, music, art, math, science and social studies as well as opportunities for social and physical development. CLC began with just 19 students and three teachers and grew very quickly. Those who were there at the time were very aware that is was the Lord who was building His school at His chosen place. Along with CLC, there had been two other half-day Christian preschools and two daycare facilities in the county. One by one these facilities closed over the years, leaving CLC as the only private care center for preschool aged children in Rabun County.

Each year, scholarship money is available to be awarded to children attending the center. Scholarship awards are based on child’s needs as well as family income.

The CLC is funded by:  Enrollment Fees (tuition), Community Foundations, Grants, Clayton United Methodist Church, and Donations.
