Experiencing Worship at Clayton First UMC
At Clayton First UMC, worship is our highest priority and our deepest passion. So when you worship with us on Sunday morning, our hope is that you would find our worship service to be inviting, comfortable, and uplifting.
Each Sunday we offer two different styles of worship—traditional and contemporary. We also offer Boat Church--a casual worship service on Lake Rabun--each Sunday at 9:00 am from Memorial Day to Labor Day. Details and directions are available at www.boatchurch.com.
Our Connections worship service takes place at 9:30 am in our Family Life Center and includes upbeat and uplifting modern worship music and relevant biblical messages aimed to connect faith to our everyday life.
Our traditional worship service is at 11:00 am in our historic sanctuary in downtown Clayton and include elements such as the Lord’s Prayer and a celebration of communion on the first Sunday of the month. Our music includes a variety of different styles, including spirituals, choir anthems, and traditional hymns. Our traditional worship service is broadcast on the radio each Sunday on 100.3 FM.
Because we so strongly believe in radical hospitality, we hope that everyone who worships with us would feel right at home. No matter who you are, how you’re dressed, or if it’s your first time in church or you’re a long-time member, the doors of our church are open to all. Because at Clayton First UMC, we believe that ultimately the church isn’t our house, it’s God’s house. And at God’s house, there’s a place for everyone.
