Volunteer requirements

All volunteers with Clayton First UMC must successfully complete the following steps to volunteer with children, youth and any at-risk population within our church.

  1. You must review and sign the CFUMC Safe Sanctuaries Policy and Covenant

  2. You must successfully complete the Safe Sanctuaries training either in-person or online (if done online, you must sign a covenant that it was completed successfully).

  3. You must obtain a background check from the Rabun Country Sheriff’s Office and submit to the Safe Sanctuaries/Volunteer Coordinator.

ALL volunteers must download, print, review and sign the below Safe Sanctuaries Policy and Covenant.

ALL Volunteers with Clayton FUMC must watch the below “Safe Sanctuaries” training video in its entirety.

*If you are completing the training from a desktop computer, go to the upper right-hand corner and click “Slideshow” to begin the slides with the narration.

You will be notified of your volunteer status once you have completed ALL of the volunteer requirements and they have been submitted to our Safe Sanctuaries Coordinator.

When you volunteer with children, youth and the at-risk population it is important for you to know the laws in Georgia on Mandated Reporting. You can access the training using the link below at no cost.

Youth (7th-12th grade students) may be asked to volunteer with our children during VBS and other church events where you will be in direct contact and have supervision over a group of children.
